Known Issue: Adobe Acrobat 2017 - PDF Maker Add-in fails after update

Users of Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 see the Office Add-In break after installing the most recent update.

Symptom

In Microsoft Word, when "Make PDF" is clicked in the Acrobat tab on the top ribbon, the user receives the error "Unable to find “Adobe PDF” Resource Files" instead of the normal dialogs to save the PDF,

Cause

The problem is caused when the Adobe update breaks Microsoft Visual Studio Runtime or the plug-in on the device is outdated.

Workaround / Resolution

Run the installers attached to this article and then reboot your device.

NOTES:

  • For 64-bit version of Windows, install both the "vcredist_x86.exe" and "vcredist_x64.exe" files
  • For 32-bit version of Windows, only install the "vcredist_x86.exe" file
