Teams - New Meeting Experience

Summary

The desktop version of teams has a new meeting experience where all meetings appear in a separate window and several features are added. This article shows you how to turn this on.

Body

The new meeting experience in Teams provides a few new features to make meetings better. Namely:

  • Meetings appear in a separate window, so that you can still access Teams chats, channels and files during a meeting.
  • The tool bar is now permanently attached to the top of the window, instead of floating and appearing when you move the mouse
  • New features such as breakout rooms are available.

To enable this on your Windows or macOS desktop, follow this procedure:

Step 1. In Teams, in the upper right corner, click on your avatar or initials and choose Settings:

Then start Teams again from the Start menu.

NOTE: If you do not see this option, then check for updates first, wait a while, and try again.
