You can reset your MFA settings yourself following the instructions included as long as you have established your security questions. If you have not established your security questions, you need to submit a ticket or contact the IT Service Desk (hours and contact options) to reset your MFA method.

If you are unable to successfully authenticate with multi-factor authentication (MFA) for some reason (ex: you have uninstalled the Microsoft Authenticator App, have a new mobile device or changed your phone number), you can reset your MFA settings yourself following the instructions below so long as you have established your security questions. If you have not established your security questions, you need to submit a ticket or contact the IT Service Desk (hours and contact options).
- In a web browser, go to account.uwindsor.ca.
- On the Sign in tab, enter your UWin ID and UWin Account password. Click the Sign In button.
- In the left column, click the MFA Reset link.
- Respond to the questions presented and click the Reset button.
After successfully resetting your MFA method, your MFA methods will have been removed making your UWin Account less secure. Please set up your new MFA methods as soon as possible:
- If you are on-campus, please follow these instructions for configuring your MFA methods through myprofile.microsoft.com.
- If you are off-campus, please follow these instructions for setting up your MFA methods by accessing one of UWindsor’s MFA-protected resources (ex: UWinsite Student, Brightspace or Office 365).
