After you have accepted an offer of admission to University of Windsor, you have to extend your UWin Account to gain access to additional services. Extending your UWin Account gives you access to:
- Your @uwindsor.ca email account
- The University’s student information system, UWinsite Student
- The University's online learning system, Brightspace
- The University's Wireless network
- The Leddy and Law Libraries
- The full suite of Microsoft Products
- Other online services
After you have extended your UWin Account, the University will send all email communications to your UWindsor email account. It is the University’s official policy to only send emails to students through their UWindsor email accounts.
To extend your UWin Account:
- Go to account.uwindsor.ca.
- Select the "Account Activation" tab.
- In the "Account Type" drop-down menu, select "Extend your UWin Account Services." Click the Activate button.
- Enter your Student Number and PIN. Your Student Number and PIN are in your Application Acknowledgement Email from the University of Windsor. If you need assistance with your PIN, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 519-253-3000 ext. 3315.
- Click the Submit button.
- Make note of your UWin ID.
- Click the Proceed button.
- Choose and answer your security questions.
- Click the Submit button.
- Set a new password by completing the Password and Password again fields.
- Click the Submit button.
- Review the Acceptable Use Policy, Disclosure Notice Confidentiality and Use of Personal Data and Disclosure Notice – Privacy and Information Statement.
- Select Yes or No to “I have Read and Accept the Policy and Disclosures Notices.”
- Click the Submit button.
Please wait 24-48 hours after accepting your offer of admission before extending your UWin Account. We need this time to properly process your confirmation.
