Most student employees access UWinsite People using their student UWinID. However, some roles require a separate student employee account to support additional access, such as SharePoint. These are requested by the department.
Once a student employee account is created, it becomes the account students must use to access UWinsite People for current and future employment.
Before beginning preboarding, students can confirm whether they already have a student employee account. Completing this check early can help prevent access-related delays.
To check, sign in to UWin Account using your student UWinID and review the alternate account information associated with your profile.
Step 1: Sign in
Sign in using student UWinID and password.
Step 2: Review alternate account details
Scroll to Alternate UWin ID, Alternate Affiliation, and Alternate Account Status. These fields show whether you have a student employee account and whether it is active.
- If the account is active: Use the student employee account to access UWinsite People. If you need to reset its password, return to UWin Account and follow the password-reset instructions.
- If the account is inactive: Ask your current supervisor to submit a Change of Position ticket so the account can be reactivated.
