To align learning outcomes to your course assessments and/or materials, start by adding them to the Learning Outcomes tool.

Add Program Learning Outcomes

1. Click Course Tools and select Course Admin.
2. Click Learning Outcomes.
   
3. Click Import and select Import from Outcome Set.
   
4. Click in the Outcome Set box and select the appropriate program. (For all Engineering courses, select CEAB UWindsor Undergraduate).
5. Select the appropriate learning outcomes by clicking in the boxes to the right of them and click Import Selected Outcomes.
   

Note: You cannot edit program outcomes you have imported

Set Achievement Scale for the Course

An achievement scale is a set of achievement levels used to measure learning progress and the degree to which a student has met the expectations of a learning outcome.

Achievement scales have been added to Brightspace by the LMS Administrator. Instructors select a scale for each course.

Be sure to select the correct scale. You can change the achievement scale of a course until the first student assessment activity has been evaluated. After an evaluation has begun in the course, the selection of the achievement scale is locked for that course offering.

To select the scale:

1. On the Course Outcomes page, click the three dots (…) to the far right of the name of the outcome set and select Add Achievement Scale.
    

2. Select the Achievement Scale appropriate for your course. (For Engineering courses, select CEAB (F24 and newer.)

3. Click Set Achievement Threshold. The threshold is the line that all above this point are not meeting the learning outcome and all at that point and above are considered to be meeting the learning outcomes within Brightspace. (This does not affect engineering accreditation binning. Engineering should select Meets Expectations (or higher).)

4. Click on Save to save and close the pop-up. Your program level learning outcomes are ready to associate with assessments.
