How can I access Microsoft file server network shares on a computer that is not connected to Active Directory?

1. Launch your Windows Explorer and type in the following address in the address bar, then push Enter:

\\uwdfs.uwinad.uwindsor.ca\shares

 

2. When asked to provide user name and password, please use the following

Login: UWINAD\<your_userid>

Password: <your_AD_password>

NOTE: Your entry must exist in Active Directory for this to work.

3. Upon successful authentication, a list of network shares on AD File Server will be displayed:
