Web hosting for faculty - requesting a personal website

Web content related to:

  • labs and clinics
  • research projects and studies
  • faculty bios and publication lists
  • conferences and workshops

is normally posted as pages within the faculty or department website.

There is no need to create an entirely separate website for this information. And, by making use of an existing website you have the help of experienced site editors.

However, if you do require a completely separate website, set up for your own individual use, we create all faculty member websites in the form, uwindsor.ca/people/yourUWinID, for example, uwindsor.ca/people/ksmith. The university does not host websites for staff or students.

The university uses Drupal, a template-based, content management system for its websites. Training to use Drupal is mandatory. Every live website must have at least one approved editor. Site owners and editors are responsible for creating and maintaining their own websites while adhering to university policies and legal requirements.

More general information is available on the Drupal Support site.
