UWin Account Creation (Including Onboarding & Offboarding)

I.T. Services will assist with I.T. related employee onboarding (account creation, office telephone service, access to systems and resources), and offboarding (termination of access).

Computer Redeployment & New Computer Setup

Redeploying a computer to another employee or setting up a new computer for the first time as well as provide information on device procurement.

Software Depot

IT Services uses the Software Depot website to resell IBM SPSS / AMOS 28 to students.

Software Licensing

Faculty, staff and students who would like to use software that is not covered by any of the campus-wide licensing agreements can submit a request to purchase a license or renew/transfer existing license.

ConnectWise Control (ra.uwindsor.ca)

ConnectWise Control is the remote support tool for the University of Windsor

Cortex XDR

Cortex XDR is the campus approved endpoint protection (AEP) anti-virus solution. If an alert is received from Cortex about malware, a blocked program, or suspicious activity on a device, it can be reported here. You can also request replacement of old anti-virus (e.g Sentinel ONE or Sophos Endpoint Protection) with Cortex XDR.

myUWindsor Mobile App

The myUWindsor Mobile App has been retired. After June 28, 2023, the app will be inaccessible. It is advised to remove the myUWindsor app from any mobile device.

IBM Notes & Domino

IBM Lotus Notes and Domino Designer are legacy tools that were used by faculty and staff for e-mail, web publishing, and collaboration.

Blackboard Learn (RETIRED)

Blackboard is the Learning Management System (LMS) that the University of Windsor supports. It is a robust system with several communication tools including Announcements, Discussions, and a Virtual Classroom called Blackboard Collaborate Ultra; multiple assessment options such as Tests and Assignments; and interactive tools including Journals, Blogs, Discussions and Wiki.

Drupal Content Management (University Website)

To support University of Windsor website, I.T. Services maintains a content management system (CMS) powered by Drupal. A CMS is a computer application that allows publishing, editing, modifying, organizing, deleting, and maintaining content from a central interface.

Microsoft 365 Apps & Portal

Microsoft 365 Apps, formerly known as Microsoft Office 365, is a suite of productivity applications that includes Access, Excel, OneDrive, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Teams, and Word. You can use these applications to connect with Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint Online and Exchange Online. These apps can be installed on your Windows or macOS computer, or on your iOS or Android mobile device. They can also be accessed in a web browser at portal.office.com

Qualtrics Surveys

Qualtrics is a comprehensive on-line survey creation service. These tools replaced Fluid Surveys and Lotus Notes based survey services provided by Web Services Group in the past.

Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS)

SPSS is the acronym of Statistical Package for the Social Science. SPSS is one of the most popular statistical packages which can perform highly complex data manipulation and analysis with simple instructions. It is designed for both interactive and non-interactive (batch).

TeamDynamix Ticketing & Project Management

TeamDynamix (TDX) app is used by I.T. Services, Finance and a few other departments for project management, asset management, and issue/request tracking through tickets submitted by faculty, staff and students on this self-service portal.

VMware

VMware is a virtualization platform that makes it possible to partition a single physical server into multiple virtual machines. Most of the University servers currently run as Virtual Machines (VMs) in our centralised VMware Virtual Environment.
