Summary
Web version of Outlook called Outlook Web App or OWA, allows you to access your UWin Office 365 account in a browser on any computer or mobile devices that is connected to the Internet without the need to install or configure anything.
Body
Faculty, staff, current and incoming students, alumni and retirees can access their University of Windsor email account by using Outlook Web App (OWA), which is the web version of Microsoft Outlook. The main advantage of this method is that it does not require any software to be installed on the computer, other than a web browser.
- Launch one of the supported browsers, and open this URL: https://portal.office.com
- When asked to authenticate, please use your University email address (UWinID@uwindsor.ca) as your login name and UWin Account password. Please note a personalized email address (i.e. firstname.lastname@uwindsor.ca) cannot be used as a login name.
- Click on Outlook icon.
When you launch Outlook web app for the first time, you may be asked to specify language and time zone. The correct time zone is (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada). Once you pick this value from the drop-down list, click on Save link to proceed.
NOTE: If you do not see Outlook on the list of apps, it means that your UWin Account was not fully provisioned with required Microsoft 365 license. This could be because you did not 'extend' your UWin Account services, or because your UWin Account type is not entitled to e-mail service. For more information, please see Student UWin Account - Provisioning & Lifecycle or open a ticket to request assistance.
