Guest Residence Wifi

This article will outline getting connected to eduroam as a guest living in residence. This article explain what eduroam Wi-Fi is.

If you already have an account that can connect to eduroam at any institution

  1. Open Wi-Fi settings on your device and select the “eduroam” network
  2. If you are not prompted to enter any information, forget the network on the device and try connecting again.
  3. Depending on your device you will be prompted for different settings (may need to tap on advanced setting for Android). Here is the list of all possibilities. Fill in any you see (Most computers will only ask for Username and Password).
    • EAP method: PEAP
    • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
    • CA certificate: Use System Certificates (or choose "Do not validate" if this is not an option)
    • Domain: uwindsor.ca
    • Identity (username): Your full email address from your institution. 
    • Anonymous identity: Your full email address from your institution. 
    • Password: Your password for the account above.
  4. If prompted to trust a certificate after signing in (mainly iPhone) tap trust.

If you have no account that can connect to eduroam

  1. Retrieve the keyword (Provided by a UWindsor Residence employee)
  2. Text the keyword to 1-833-338-7626
  3. You will receive a text back within 5 minutes with a user name and password and instructions to sign in.
  4. Open Wi-Fi settings on your device and select the “eduroam” network
  5. If you are not prompted to enter any information, forget the network on the device and try connecting again.
  6. Depending on your device you will be prompted for different settings (may need to tap on advanced setting for Android). Here is the list of all possibilities. Fill in any you see (Most computers will only ask for Username and Password).
