Body

Accessing certain resources on the University's network requires that you use a secure VPN connection. To establish a VPN connection, you will use the GlobalProtect app that is available for currently supported macOSLinux and Windows platforms.

GlobalProtect is automatically installed on every administered University device. There is no need to install it.

For personal devices used for work or school - referred to as Bring-Your-Own-Devices or BYODs -  you need to perform three steps to use GlobalProtect:

  1. Install GlobalProtect
  2. Set Up GlobalProtect
  3. Use GlobalProtect

The preferred method for installing GlobalProtect on BYODs is by using Company Portal. Using GlobalProtect from Company Portal means that it is immediately upgraded as IT Services activates new versions, providing you with bug-fixes and new functionality automatically. It also installed pre-configured with the University's VPN configuration.
