How to Add or Manage an MFA Authentication Method

Objective

Add, change, or remove an MFA authentication method. 

Environment

  • Microsoft My Profile 
  • MFA-enabled University accounts 
  • University of Windsor Microsoft 365 account 
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enabled account 
  • Microsoft My Account portal 

Procedure

  1. Open the Microsoft My Account portal
  2. Sign in using your UWinID account and password. 
  3. Click Security Info
  4. Click + Add sign-in method
  5. Select the authentication method you want to add. 
  6. Follow the prompts to complete the setup. 

Return to the Security Info page at any time to: 

  • Add another authentication method. 
  • Change an existing authentication method. 
  • Remove an authentication method you no longer need. 

It is recommended that you configure more than one authentication method so you have an alternative option available if your preferred method is unavailable.
