What is Windows Hello for Business?

Windows Hello for Business (WHfB) lets you sign into any app using your Windows computer (something you have) plus something you know or are (a PIN, fingerprint, or face). If you have a University Intune-managed device running Microsoft Windows, then Windows Hello is already enabled on it with PIN option (default setting) or biometrics option such as fingerprint or face recognition (optional on devices that support it).
After phishing-resistant MFA was enabled on your account, Windows Hello will be listed as one of the available passkeys on that computer when you are prompted to authenticate to access any apps using Microsoft Entra. It will be a default authentication method on that device.
However, because some web applications do not always recognize Windows Hello as a valid MFA/passkey event, users may occasionally still need another MFA method for certain browser-based sign-ins.
