Where do I find notes.ini file on a computer running Windows 7?

In a single-user user installation of Notes, the notes.ini file is located inside the binary files folder. But in a multi-user installation of Notes (default for Windows 7), the notes.ini file is located inside each user's data folder, which by default is hidden. Follow the steps below to make Windows 7 to show hidden files. Please note that you should only attempt this for troubleshooting purposes under the guidance of an IT professional, and that during the normal operations of your PC, the hidden files should remain hidden.

1. Start Windows Explorer

2. Press the Alt button on your keyboard

3. Select "Folder Options..." from the "Tools" menu

4. Click on the "View" tab and make sure "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" under "Hidden files and folders" is checked.
