How to Onboard an Employee using UWinsite People & More (For Managers)

As a Line Manager, you take an active role in onboarding your new staff members. Read more about the process that occurs in and outside of UWinsite People. 

As soon as the new candidate accepts the offer, the Line Manager receives a notification of the acceptance. The Line Manager will need to:

  1. Navigate to Journeys in their Me tab, and click on My Journeys or My Tasks in order to complete several onboarding tasks. 
  2. Request Key/Card/Fob Access – Click Go to website, then after you've completed the tasks outside of UWP, then click Done
  3. Request Workstation/Area Name Sign. You'll need to send an email fac-admin@uwindsor.ca to get a workstation and sign, if required, then in UWP, click Done.
  4. Submit Ticket for UWin Account Creation/Reactivation – click on Go to Website - Kindly Submit a ticket using the Link. This high priority task must be completed as early as possible. Items covered as part of submitting this ticket include:
    • UWin Account creation (includes UWin ID and password)
    • Telecommunications set up (includes phone, extension, long distance code and online directory)
    • Access to shared mailboxes, OneDrive, Office 365 Groups/Teams and file shares, I.T. systems, such as UWinsite Student, UWinsite Finance.
  5. For New Computer Setup, click on Go to website, then select Done when you've completed the tasks.
  6. Request Business Cards (optional) - click on Go to website, then click Done.

The Line Manager may re-open tasks for the employee if required in this area as well. Once you select the task, click on the three dots and click Reopen Task. The employee receives a notification and an email notification that there is reopened task. The employee would then navigate to the Journeys tab to complete the task.
