Download the Xerox MFD AltaLink drivers
In Web browser, go to https://www.support.xerox.com/support/altalink-c8000-series/downloads/enus.html?associatedProduct=C8000-series-built-in-controller&operatingSystem=macosx10_14&fileLanguage=en
- Select the appropriate macOS version.
- Click on the link “macOS Common Printer Driver Installer”
- Agree to the license terms
- Download the dmg file. To save time, select “Open with DiskImageMounter” when prompted. Otherwise, you will need to double-click on the dmg file in the Downloads folder to open it.
- The dmg file contains a pkg file. Double-click on the pkg file to start the installation wizard:
Follow the prompts through the steps.
Don't see your printer?
- When you open the page you will have a list of nearby available printers displayed. Do not select any of these options! Instead choose the "Don't see your printer?" option. This will allow for you to search for printers directly by their IP address.
- From here you can get the IP address of the Xerox device from the Xerox's CMDB page as it would be recorded.
- After entering the IP your device will attempt to establish a connection to the Xerox. If a connection is created the appropriate Xerox and corresponding asset will be added and synced with your Mac device.
- If this does not work try the advanced printer options to manually create the printer connection.
Advanced Printer Options
- When it gets to the “Select a Printer” screen, press Continue. It will not be able to find the printer on your network so press Continue. Even if it finds printers on the local network, do not use them as direct access to AltaLink devices will be locked down on the future.
- You will get the “Print Queue Not Created” window (as shown below). Press Continue – we will install the queue later using some advanced settings that are not available through this wizard.
- Finish the Wizard
