Software Support

IT Services provides the highest level of support for a selection of software packages. The software packages selected for full support are determined by perceived demand, support available for similar packages, knowledge of staff, and the time required (and available) to learn the packages. Click on the software title to see more details.

Other software packages are supported by technicians or the functional professionals in the department or area in which the software is used.

Software on University computers is administered by Microsoft Intune device management platform. To install University software on your managed device: 

  1. Launch Company Portal app that is already installed on your work computer. 
  2. Click on Apps
  3. Find the software that you need to install and click on its title to see details. 
  4. Click on Install button. 

Requesting Assistance

Have a general "how to" question about this service? Post it on our Public Q&A Forum (do not include personal information, such as your student number, etc.). 

To report an issue or request assistance with software, please click one of the Open Ticket buttons on the right. This will bring up a form that you will need to fill-out and submit to open a support ticket with the IT Service Desk. You will receive a confirmation email with the ticket reference number and additional instructions.

Software Licensing
Faculty, staff and students who would like to use software that is not covered by any of the campus-wide licensing agreements can submit a request to purchase a license or renew/transfer existing license.

Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS)
SPSS is the acronym of Statistical Package for the Social Science. SPSS is one of the most popular statistical packages which can perform highly complex data manipulation and analysis with simple instructions. It is designed for both interactive and non-interactive (batch).
Qualtrics Surveys
Qualtrics is a comprehensive on-line survey creation service. These tools replaced Fluid Surveys and Lotus Notes based survey services provided by Web Services Group in the past.
Notes & Domino Designer
Notes and Domino Designer are legacy tools that were used by faculty and staff for e-mail, web publishing, and collaboration.
