How do I setup Outlook for Mac to access my UWin Office 365 account?

This article applies to the latest version of Outlook for Mac, (also known as Outlook for Mac 16.70 or Outlook for Mac for Office 365), which requires Mac OS Mojave 10.14 to function. To install the latest version of Microsoft Outlook for Mac, please see the relevant article in the "Related Articles" section on the right.

 

1.  Start Outlook from your Applications folder.

2. Enter your email address in the format UWinID@uwindsor.ca and click Continue. 

Note, do NOT use your personalized or vanity e-mail address (e.g. John.Testerski@uwindsor.ca)

 

 

3. You should get another sign in page. Enter the same email address and password then complete your authentication using your multi-factor authentication method. 

  

 

4. You may be prompted to add the password to your keychain. If you do not want to sign in every time you open Outlook type in the password for your Mac and hit "Allow"

 

5. You should now see a screen advising that your account has been added. Hit the button "Personalize Now" if you wish to customize the way Outlook looks. Otherwise close the window.

You must run Repair Disk Permissions utility that may take a few minutes depending on the amount of files you have on your Mac. Once the repair is complete, launch Outlook and you should be able to send attachments.
