How to Create and Submit a Payroll Timecard (Student Employees)

Find the steps to create and submit your timecard below. A video is also available to review the process - How to Enter Your Timecard You will need to be signed into your UWin Account to view the video. 

In your browser, go to uwindsor.ca/uwinsite/people. Complete your single sign-on in UWinsite People using your full UWinID@uwindsor.ca as your username and your UWin Account password. Then:   

  1. Under Me, select Time and Absences
  2. To add time for the current pay period, select Current Time Card
  3. Navigate to Entries section and select +Add  
  4. The Entries section will expand and you can now enter the timecard details: 
  • Select the Position for which you wish to enter time 
  • The Payroll Time Type will be Regular Time Paid (this is the only option) 
  • Dates (you can select multiple dates at once if the start time, end time and position is the same for each one)  
  • Start and End times 
  • Select Add another date if you have more time to add 
  1. Select OK. If you need to report time for a different position, repeat step 4 and select the additional position.
  2. Review the dates/times/hours you have added. If you need to make a change, select the pencil. If you are ready to submit, select Submit
  3. Once you submit the time card, you will return to the main Time Cards screen. 

Add Time for a Previous Time Period

  1. Select Existing Time Cards
  2. Select the date for the time period you need to enter time for and select +Add.
  3. The Payroll Time Type will be Regular Time Paid (this is the only option). 
  4. Select the Position for which you wish to enter time.
  5. The Payroll Time Type will be Regular Time Paid
  6. Click Select Dates,  (you can select multiple dates at once if the start time, end time and position is the same for each one).  
  7. Enter the Start Time and End Time
  8. Select OK
    • If you have another date and time, select Add another date, enter the date and time, click OK. 
  9. Select +Add another date if you have more time to add. 
  10. Review the dates/times/hours you have added. If you need to make a change, select the pencil. If you are ready to submit, select Submit

Tip: You can enter time entries for the most recent 28 days in the system. For time entries older than 28 days, you must contact your manager for assistance.
