Troubleshooting Benefits Enrolment

What do I do if a contact is not showing up in Enrollment?

  • In your Benefits screen, visit Before You Enroll section and review your People to Cover list.
  • Make sure the gender, date of birth, first name, last name, relationship, and relationship start date are all populated for each contact.
  • Relationship type child is only for those 21 years of age and under as of December 31 at 11:59 p.m. of the current year.
  • Relationship type adult dependent is only for those 21 years of age or older as of January 1 at 12:01 a.m. of the current year. Adult Dependents must have either Disability Type selected as Yes or Student Status selected as Fulltime student. They must be under the age of 25 as of January 1 at 12:01 a.m. of the current year if not considered infirm (in which case there is no upper age limit on coverage).

I have Suspended Status on my benefits. What does that mean?

  • This means there is either a pending action that needs to be completed (such as proof of eligibilities, or carrier approval in the case of life insurance). In your Benefits screen, go to Pending Actions section to review your pending actions to ensure you have completed all required documents/steps.

Once completed, the HR Administrator will review your documents and clear the suspended status. At which time, suspended status will be removed, and the elected coverage will begin (if approved by HR Administrator).

I am a Current Employee, and an Adult Dependent is not showing up in the annual election process.

  • From October 1 to October 31, employees are asked to change any child who will be 21 as of December 31 at 11:59 p.m. to Adult Dependent Relationship type effective January 1 following year.

If you did not complete this step, then your Adult Dependent will not appear for enrollment in benefits November 1. Please submit a ticket to request help from the HR Administrator.
