Known Issue: Authorization error

While accessing UWinsite Student, in some cases an error message is displayed "You are not authorized for this page"

The error may have occurred, due to the following:  

  • The last time you used UWinsite Student, you did not log out and/or just closed the web browser.  
  • You bookmarked a page other than the UWinsite Student login page. Please only bookmark the UWinsite Student hub (www.uwindsor.ca/uwinsitestudent).
  • You tried to access UWinsite Student through a search engine.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Clear your web browser’s cache.
  2. Shut down your web browser.
  3. Re-open your web browser. 
  4. In your web browser, preferably Google Chrome, go to www.uwindsor.ca/uwinsitestudent
  5. Click the blue SIGN IN TO UWINSITE STUDENT button. 
  6. On the Sign in screen, enter (or select) your UWinID@uwindsor.ca. Click the Next button. 
  7. On the Enter password screen, enter your UWin Account password. Click the Sign in button. 

If the solution above does not work, and you would like to log in to UWinsite Student immediately, use Incognito mode (Google Chrome) or Private Browsing mode (Edge and Firefox) and then repeat steps 4-6. 

NOTE: So long as you properly log out of UWinsite Student, the next time you log in to the platform, you should be able to go to www.uwindsor.ca/uwinsitestudent and use the LOG IN TO UWINSITE STUDENT button without using Incognito or Private Browsing mode.
