If you're experiencing issues that affect Microsoft Teams, clearing the cache on your device may help. After you clear the cache, restart Teams.
Note:
- You won't lose any user data by clearing the cache.
- Restarting Teams after you clear the cache might take longer than usual because the Teams cache files have to be rebuilt.
New Teams - Windows
Note: When you reset the Teams app, the app data will be deleted. This includes any personalization settings that you might have configured.
- Type settings in the search box, and then select the Settings app from the results.
- Select Apps > Installed apps, and then type Microsoft Teams in the search box.
- Locate the New Microsoft Teams app from the results, select the More options button (...) on the right, and then select Advanced options.
- In the Reset section, select Reset.
- Restart Teams.
New Teams - Mac
- If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the dock, and then select Quit or press Command (⌘)-Q.
- In the Finder, open the /Applications/Utilities folder, and then double-click Terminal.
- Enter the following commands, and press Return after each command:
rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams
rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams
4. Restart Teams
Classic Teams - Windows
- If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar, and then select Quit.
- Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key +R.
- In the Run dialog box, enter
%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
and then select OK.
- Delete all files and folders in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams directory.
- Restart Teams.
Classic Teams - macOS

If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the dock, and then select Quit, or press Command (⌘)-Q.

In the Finder, click Go in the menu bar at the top, and select the Go to Folder option.

Next, copy and paste the following path in the text field on the pop-up window and click Go.

~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft

Right-click on the Teams folder and select Move to Bin. Restart Teams.

Open Spotlight Search by clicking on the magnifying glass icon at the top right corner of the menu bar or press Command + space bar.

Type "Keychain" in Spotlight Search, and from the suggestion that appear, click on Keychain Access.

Search for "Microsoft Teams" in Keychain Access and locate the Microsoft Teams Identities Cache. Right click on this item and select Delete. Close Keychain Access.
