How to update to the new VPN
The KBA will walk you through the steps to switch from the old portal: networklogin.uwindsor.ca to the new portal address: securelogin.uwindsor.ca
Note, some images may differ if you are using a Windows, Android or iOS device.
If you have not downloaded the GlobalProtect VPN software, please find the KBA to install it on your computer.
Windows Computers
Mac Computers
For Windows Computers
1. Access the GlobalProtect icon in your computer’s menu.
2. Select Settings from the application's menu
3. From the General tab, select networklogin.uwindsor.ca portal and select delete.
4. Select Sign Out
5. A pop-up will appear, select OK
6. Enter the new portal address securelogin.uwindsor.ca and select Connect.
7. You will be prompted to enter your UWinID@uwindsor.ca, select Next
8. Enter your UWinID password, and select Sign In. You will be prompted to provide multi-factor authentication (MFA).
9. Check Don’t show this again, and, select Yes, if you would like to stay signed in.
10. You will receive a prompt that you are connected to the VPN. The Gateway is set to "Internal" when on campus, when off-campus it is set to "gw-campus-external".
For macOS
1. Access the GlobalProtect icon in your computer’s menu.
2. Select Settings
3. From the General tab, select networklogin.uwindsor.ca portal and select minus (delete).
4. Select Sign Out
5. A pop-up will appear, select Yes
6. Enter the new portal address securelogin.uwindsor.ca and select Connect.
7. You will be prompted to enter your UWinID@uwindsor.ca, select Next
8. Enter your UWinID password, and select Sign In. You will be prompted to provide multi-factor authentication (MFA).
9. Check Don’t show this again, and, select Yes, if you would like to stay signed in.
10. You will receive a prompt that you are connected to the VPN. The Gateway is set to Internal when on campus, when off-campus it is set to gw-campus-external.
