In the case of Intune device configuration policies causing OneDrive Sync issues on a non-university owned device, the only solution currently is to remove said device from device administration (Intune MDM) and to edit Widows Registry to re-enable syncing.
Step 1: Disconnect from Intune
- Open Windows Settings
- Click Accounts on the left hand side
- Click Access work or school
- Click on the client's UWin Account and click Disconnect
Step 2: Re-enable OneDrive Sync
Currently the only known policy that is pushed by Intune is to disable the use of OneDrive Sync (subject to change without notification). To re-enable OneDrive Sync, you will need to make changes to your Windows Registry (proceed with caution):
- Hold the Windows Key and press 'R' to launch the run dialog
- Type gpedit.msc in the dialog box and hit Enter
- Under Computer Configuration click Administrative Templates
- Choose Windows Components
- Click OneDrive
- Double-click Prevent the usage of OneDrive for File Storage

- Choose the Disabled radio button.
NOTE: Choosing Not Configured will leave OneDrive Sync blocked; it will not remove the changes that Enabled sets
