Known Issue: User unable to change password on a Mac after being prompted to do so

After enrolling Mac in Intune, device is rebooted. Following the reboot, on the login screen, user is prompted to change device password but the reset button is grayed out even though the user entered their new password in required fields.

This happens when user's existing device password does not meet one of the password complexity requirements as defined in Intune's "Corp - Basic Device Restrictions for Mac"

  • password is less than 10 characters
  • password includes consecutive or repeating characters ("simple password" sequence), such as "123" or "tt"

This issue is currently under investigation.
