UWin Account

Your UWin Account is your personal digital identification for accessing a number of online services at the University of Windsor. A valid and active UWin Account is required of everyone associated with the University of Windsor who plans on using any of the IT systems and services.

UWin Account Services ->

IT Services can help with and provide service for the following in a UWin Account Services ticket:

  • MFA reset
  • MFA issue
  • General sign in issue
  • Reset of UWin Account password
  • Account extensions
  • Change of UWinID
  • Name issues on accounts
  • Compromised UWin Account

Account Creation / Onboarding ->

IT Services will create requested accounts and provide an Onboarding service (requested access, Office phone, Microsoft Teams/Sharepoint access, etc..) for accounts that qualify. The following types of accounts can be requested in an Account Creation / Onboarding Ticket:

  • Staff / Faculty / Sessional / Adjunct / Visiting Scholar / Post Doctorate Fellow / Student Employee
  • Individuals hired via employment agency
  • Volunteers / Guests
  • Vendors / Contractors
  • Board of Governors
  • Brightspace Guests
  • Wireless only (for individuals or large event)

Only access that is requested will be granted. If access is needed that is not accounted for in the form, please indicate it in the description.

*Note: If a University owned computer setup/redeployment is needed for the new account holder, please ensure to submit a supplementary ticket by clicking here and please reference the Account creation ticket ID.

**Note: Onboardings do not include access to UWinsite Student nor UWinsite Finance. These 2 systems need specific requests for first time access. These supplementary tickets can be submitted after the new account holder has activated their account using the links below.

Change of Position ->

IT Services will assist, with regards to system access, in the transition of an employee from one position to another. The position change could be from one position to another within a department or moving to another department. Access will be removed from the old position and granted for the new one depending on what was indicated in the ticket. 

Systems that are covered in a Change of Position tickets are listed below. If other access is needed, please indicate it in the description of the ticket.

  • Directory
  • Phones
  • Shared Mailboxes
  • Office 365 Teams / Groups / Sharepoints
  • UWinsite Student*
    • only if access has been previously granted. If not, please submit a ticket by clicking here
  • VIP
  • UWinsite Finance
  • Teamdynamix

Account Deactivation / Offboarding ->

IT Services will assist in the deactivation and/or removal of access of an account. This would also be the correct service to pick for for an employee in the following situations:

  • Retiring 
  • End of contract
  • Resigned
  • Termination
