Tags windows-10

Safe Mode is useful when trying to remove malware or for troubleshooting of other issues. Here are the steps to go to Safe Mode.

  1. While signed into Windows, click on the Start button then click on Power.
  2. Hold down the Shift key then click on Restart.
  3. When Choose and option screen appears, click on Troubleshooting, then Advanced Options, then Startup Settings, then Restart. The System will complete the reboot, and bring you to the Startup Settings screen.
  4. At the Startup Settings screen select the appropriate optin by pressing the numer key on your keyboard that corresponds with your choice. For example, press 4 to Enable Safe Mode.

If you cannot successfully sign into Windows but can see the login screen, find the power icon located in the lower right corner. Use the same steps as above.
