UWin Account Activation for Part-Time Casual Employees

Part-time casual employees are granted a UWin Account (UWin ID and UWin password) which is used to:

  • Sign into myUWinfo, the University of Windsor’s gateway to human resource information including your pay statements, tax receipts and mandatory training modules.
  • Sign into the COVID-19 Self-Assessment in the Safe Lancer app.
  • Access the uwinsecure wireless network on campus. 

Activation Steps

New part-time casual employees must activate their UWin Account. To activate:

  1. Go to www.uwindsor.ca/its/uwinid.
  2. In the Account Activation section, click the Faculty / Staff / Employee Account link.
  3. When prompted, enter your UWin ID and Activation Code. Click the Submit button.
    • Your UWin ID will be your Employee Number preceded with the letter ‘e’.  For example, if your employee number is 12345, your UWin ID is ‘e12345’
    • Your Activation Code will be your year of birth followed by the last four (4) numbers of your Social Insurance Number (SIN), followed by the capital letters ‘PW’.  For example, if your SIN is 123 456 789 and you were born in 1992, your password will be ‘19926789PW’
  4. Verify that your information is correct. Click the Submit button.
  5. Create your security questions and answers. Click the Submit button.
  6. Choose your password and enter it twice. Click the Submit button.
  7. You will receive a message indicating your UWin Account is now active.

Additional Notes

  • When signing into myUWinfo and the COVID-19 Self-Assessment in the Safe Lancer app, you will need to enter yourUWinID@uwindsor.ca (including the “@uwindsor.ca” part). When connecting to the uwinsecure wireless network, you will just enter your UWin ID.  
  • Part-Time Casual employee UWin Accounts DO NOT include an email account. If one is required for a part-time casual employee’s work with the University of Windsor, their department must make a request to IT Services to enable email for the UWin ID.
