In order to see the status indicators in your OneDrive for Business on your Mac, you need to enable the OneDrive Finder Integration Extension.
To do this, perform the following steps:
1. Go to System Preferences > Extensions
2. Under Extensions, select Finder, and ensure OneDrive Finder Integration is enabled:
