Cell Phone - Corporate Plan Transition

The University of Windsor has updated its Cell Phone Procurement and Subscription Policy to comply with the Province of Ontario’s public sector taxable benefit guidelines and updated CRTC regulations.  

Per the new policy, only individuals affiliated with the University of Windsor who possess mobile devices or monthly plans paid through the University are eligible for a Corporate Cell Phone Plan.

In addition, individuals who are affiliated with the University of Windsor, should meet one or more of the business necessity conditions outlined in the policy AND have approval from the account or grant signing authority from which the device or monthly plan will be funded. 

Individuals affiliated with UWindsor

If you are currently affiliated with the University of Windsor and your monthly TELUS bill is paid via a University of Windsor Purchasing Card (PCard), please complete this service request

Others

If you are not currently affiliated with the University of Windsor and are NOT paying your monthly TELUS bill via a University of Windsor Purchasing Card (PCard), or you have family members on a corporate University of Windsor cell phone plan, please contact SmartCell at 519-250-5070 or visit them at their 363 Eugenie Street East store in Windsor to have your account changed to a personal TELUS account within 10 days of receiving notification from the University or potentially risk a gap in service.  

Deadline

Unapproved users will be removed from the University of Windsor’s Corporate Cell Phone Plan as of Monday, December 16, 2024
