Computers that are assigned to a primary user can pose a security risk when another (non-primary) user signs on and saves files to their profile (Desktop, Documents, etc.) When you sign on to a computer that is not shared and you are not the primary user do not save any confidential files to the computer. Non-primary users should not sync files with OneDrive.

With Office 365, Microsoft transitioned to subscription-based licensing. Licenses for individual products are purchased and assigned to individual users online rather than by entering Product Key on the workstation. Microsoft Visio and Project are not covered by the current licensing agreement. Clients interested in using this software have the option to purchase the subscription license thought IT Services at a discounted academic pricing.

When an instructor requests a new Team for their course a team is created using the Class Team template. We try to closely follow the way that courses are named in Brightspace which follows the EDS course section code, over 90% of the time.

UWin Gmail system has been retired. As of January 2020, all incoming students are being provisioned with Exchange Online e-mail account instead of UWin Gmail account. All users with UWin Gmail accounts in good standing have been migrated to Microsoft 365 / Outlook in Summer 2020. Accounts that were not migrated have been disabled and can no longer be accessed. Access to this service ended on April 30, 2022.
