Why am I unable to sign into Microsoft 365 Portal?

There may be several reasons why you are having problems.

1. Is your UWin Account active?


Your UWin Account may have been disabled or it has not been fully activated (i.e. extended).
Go to account.uwindsor.ca and sign in.
Ensure that your Account Status says Active.
If it says New, it has not been extended. See Extending UWin Account
 

2. What are you using as your login name?


You must use your University primary e-mail address as your login name when signing into any system that uses Microsoft work or school account.
This will work: jsmith@uwindsor.ca
This will NOT work: jsmith or John.Smith@uwindsor.ca

NOTE: A few legacy systems still do not use Microsoft work or school accounts. When signing into those systems, use your UWin ID only (example: jmith) as your login name.
 

3. Are you typing in a correct password?


You can use Verify Your Password service to see if you are entering a correct password. If on the results screen you see red icon next to AD, then you must change your UWin Account password to synchronise it with Active Directory.
