The University of Windsor has a wide variety of clubs and associations that students can join. Officially sanctioned clubs can apply for what used to be called a "Club Account" which is a shared mailbox with clubuwinid@uwindsor.ca e-mail address. We no longer automatically create a club team, but it can be requested by submitting a separate ticket.
To request a shared mailbox for your club:
- Go to Services > Messaging & Collaboration > Microsoft 365 > Microsoft Exchange.
- Click on E-mail and Calendar green button on the right to bring up online form.
- Select Requesting new shared mailbox in the Request Type field.
- Fill out other required fields and submit your request.
You will be asked to come up with your club's UWin ID. The UWin ID a text string that will appear in front of @ sign in your club's e-mail address. UWin ID should be twenty characters or less and it cannot start with a number. It can be a single word, a few short words joined together or separated with underscore or dash (no spaces allowed), or an acronym.
In addition, you must also provide your sponsor's information on the request form. The sponsor may be the UWSA, GSS or OPUS executive, or a faculty or staff member at the University of Windsor. Shared mailboxes are renewed annually by the sponsor of the mailbox. They will receive an e-mail notification close to the expiry date of the mailbox.
There is no separate password associated with your club shared mailbox. To access a shared mailbox or team associated with your club account, you will need to use your own UWin Account (i.e. Microsoft school account) once your name has been added to the list of authorised users. See Accessing a Shared Mailbox
