Student Club UWin Account

The University of Windsor has a wide variety of clubs and associations that students can join. Officially sanctioned clubs can apply for a Club account that comes with the following services:

  • A shared mailbox with club_uwinid@uwindsor.ca e-mail address.
  • A club team in Microsoft Teams.

To apply for a Club account:

  1. Go to Services > Messaging & Collaboration > Microsoft 365 > Microsoft 365 - E-mail and Calendar > Open Ticket (or click here) to bring up online form.
  2. Select Requesting new Club account in the Request Type field.
  3. Fill out other required fields and submit your request.

You will be asked to provide three choices for your club's UWin ID in the order of preference. The UWin ID a text string that will appear in front of @ sign in your club's e-mail address. In case your first choice is not available, we will go with your second or third choice. UWin ID should be twenty characters or less and it cannot start with a number. It can be a single word, a few words joined together or separated with underscore/hyphen (no spaces allowed), or an acronym.

In addition, you must also provide your sponsor's information on the request form. The sponsor may be the UWSA, GSS or OPUS executive, or a faculty or staff member at the University of Windsor.

Club accounts must be renewed annually. You will receive an e-mail notification close to the expiry date of the account. To renew the account for another year:

  1. Go to Services > Messaging & Collaboration > Microsoft 365 > Microsoft 365 - E-mail and Calendar > Open Ticket (or click here) to bring up online form.
  2. Select Requesting Club reactivation or renewal in the Request Type field.
  3. Fill out other required fields and submit your request.

Accessing Club Account

There is no separate password associate with your club account. To access a shared mailbox or team associated with your club account, you will need to use your own UWin Account (i.e. Microsoft school account) once your name has been added to the list of authorised users.

To access your club team:

  1. Launch your browser and navigate to office.com then sign in with your Microsoft school account.
  2. Click on Teams icon on the list of apps to launch Microsoft Teams.
  3. While in MS Teams app, click on Teams icon on the left on the navigation bar to show the list of teams that you belong to.
  4. Locate the icon for your club team and click on it to open it.
  5. To access your club files, click on Files tab. This space is similar to OneDrive but it is shared among all team members.
