Microsoft Windows Update is a Microsoft service for the Windows operating system, which automates downloading and installing Microsoft Windows software updates over the Internet. This article discusses two different types of Windows updates and provides a listing of the most recent updates required for device compliance.

At the University of Windsor, Microsoft Intune combined with Entra ID provides device and application administration, corporate data protection, identity management and directory services.

In some situations, it may be necessary to force Intune agent on the managed device to contact Intune service in the cloud (check-in). This will ensure that all assigned configuration and compliance policies are re-applied and refreshed on the device.

When user attempts into Windows on a computer that has not been used in more than six months, they are unable to do so and the following message comes up on the screen:
"Something went wrong. Your organization has deleted this device."

All University computers should be upgraded to Modern Desktop experience (Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 Apps). If you are unsure if your computer has been upgraded, please follow the steps outlined in this article.
